5 ‘Must-Haves’ For Your Business Website

By Chandra Gupta,

5 must haves for business websites
While websites will obviously vary from business to business and be customized to individual needs, there are certain things that every business website must have. As you are developing a new website for your business or are just revamping the old, the following elements should all be included.

1. Simple & Responsive Design

One of the most important elements when it comes to a business’ website is a simple and clear design. Most visitors prefer websites that leave out erroneous information or tools, and they are likely to leave a website they deem complicated. A site with a streamlined design that avoids the clutter of extra features and information will be more likely to see return visitors. Additionally, users will expect to be able to access your website wherever they are – which means they’ll be browsing on their mobile devices. Responsive design is a must in order to appease smartphone and tablet users.

2. Easy- to-Remember URLs

Come up with a URL for your business’s website that is simple, relates to your business and is easy for your customers and visitors to remember. Customers will have an easier time recalling a URL that is not weighed down with dashes or numbers.

3. Customer Testimonials or Reviews

One of the best ways to get new customers to invest in your product or services is to provide testimonials and reviews from your previous and current customers about your business on your website. Putting your customers’ positive reviews and testimonials where they are visible on your business’ website will create trust with new visitors and could improve your reputation as a distinguished business.

4. Compelling Calls-to-Action

Having strong and clear call-to-action button on your company’s website is also a necessity. Call-to-action buttons are used to solicit actions from a website’s user and are the most effective when they clearly tell users what they should be doing on a page. Include these buttons, which usually says things like “learn more here” or “order now,” on every page of your website to efficiently relay what actions you want your visitors to be performing.

5. Information About Your Business

While most of your customers are using your site for information relating to the goods and services you provide, having information about your business’ background can help distinguish your site as a reliable and credible source. Having an “about us” section creates a personal relationship and connection with any new visitors to your website. It also creates trust, and visitors are more likely to do business with a company they can trust. Information about your business should also include your contact information, which should be prominently displayed on each page of your website.
