However, there’s always room for one more. The latest comes by way of our Fantasy Football draft, and yes, we’re going to be “that guy” and brag about it. Because that’s what winners do.
As busy as we are, it’s rare for us to find the time to get everyone together in the same room and collaborate on something other than a content strategy or brain-storming session. I’m proud to say however, that like all of our successes, this one was a result of a concentrated team effort. We watched film, studied the X’s and O’s, called each other mean names, and irritated our wives endlessly in order to produce one of the most star-studded football teams to ever not actually play a single down with each other.
Like any championship team, we faced some adversity. Peyton Manning was snatched away with the first overall pick. A heated debate over Luke Kuechly raged far into the later rounds. At what may have been our lowest point, we selected Chris Johnson as a back-up running back.
Yet we persevered; through the blood, sweat, and tears, through the agony and elation; We emerged triumphant, with the coveted title of “Best Pre-Season Made-Up Roster Pickers.” We had crushed our enemies, seen them driven before us, and heard the lamentations of their women. Our draft grade of “A” was but a secondary validation.
It is with victory in our hearts, and cheap beer in our bellies that we now turn to the future…and the actual season. Our path won’t be fraught with danger or peril; we actually lucked into a sweetheart of a schedule. And we of course have a bit of a contingency plan: If any of our admittedly thin WR corps is injured, we’ve got my personal favorite pick, Kelvin Benjamin (OF FSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME-WINNING CATCH FAME), ready to step into a starting spot. Yeah, we’re freaking stacked.
It should go without saying that we approach our clients’ campaigns with the same tenacity and intensity as we do our little fantasy football hobby. If we take bragging rights this seriously, you can bet we really put it all on the line when ROI and our reputation are involved.
Why is that? Well, we’ll leave it to our good friend DJ Khaled and company to explain.
