In order for your business to remain relevant in today’s mobile world, it is crucial for you to develop a mobile-friendly website. The majority of Internet users today are sourcing the content they need from websites that can be easily utilized and navigated through the convenience of their cell phones.  For your business to thrive in this mobile-first environment you must deliver your information and services to your current customers and potential clients as quickly and smoothly as possible. Businesses that fail to do so will undoubtedly fall behind their competition.

Other reasons to ensure your website is mobile friendly are as follows:

Increase in Smart Phone Users

Since the introduction of the first Apple iPhone, the rise of smart phone users has drastically climbed each year. There are now currently over 1.75 billion people in the world who own a smart phone. Smart Phones continue to be so appealing because of the completely hand-held experience offered while browsing, the new features and designs that are constantly being created, and a user’s ability to easily afford one. With so many people having 24/7 access to your websites through their phones, it is easy to see why a mobile-friendly website is absolutely necessary.

Use Across Multiple Devices

Unlike mobile apps, mobile-friendly websites have the ability to reach their audience regardless of the type of smartphone and mobile platform they are using. If a user is visiting your website on their desktop and then switch to their mobile device, their experience should not change in order to avoid frustration, confusion and discontinued use of your website. The consistency this creates makes it more likely for people to use and to return to your site.

Search Ranking Won’t Suffer

Various search engines, including Google, place mobile-friendly website  higher in a search engine’s result rankings. Because these websites provide users with a more optimum experience while navigating, search engines are more likely to find websites that cannot be easily operated on a smart phone as illegitimate sources. Essentially, websites that are mobile-friendly will benefit more from organic search results.  In order to avoid your website being penalized by search engines, it is imperative to transition into a mobile-friendly site.
